Like a Moshpit of Mainroom History!

As creative lead and art director for the branding and marketing campaign of this rockin’ exhibit at the Minnesota History Center, I dove headfirst into this project. In close collaboration with the Exhibits team at the Minnesota Historical Society, I worked with researchers and exhibit developers to create the nostalgic and grungy aesthetic that epitomizes the world-famous club(s) First Avenue & The 7th Street Entry.

Through this work, the handwritten elements that appeared in the marketing materials soon made their way into the exhibit itself—a first for any exhibit at the Minnesota History Center. The smudgy call-to-actions on interactive video pieces are a perfect collision of analog meets digital.
